Film Friday

On last week's BBC Film Podcast, Mark Kermode picked Girlhood as DVD of the Week.

Directed by CĂ©line Sciamma, Kermode said La Haine was a good counterpart although Girlhood is not quite a girl gang movie.
La Haine celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and Oval Space are showing both films tomorrow for the bargain price of £8.

I've not seen both, can't wait.

Beer and music

Not to come off like a Green Man stalker, but this week/weekend, they're putting on a beer/cider festival in Kings Cross (they have a specialist beer tent at the Welsh festival).

Musical line up is strong as ever including Stealing Sheep, Meilyr Jones, C Duncan, Rozi Plain and The Wave Pictures & so many beers, I'll get a bit stressed. Oh, and it's free entry!
