Mix #26

There a tonne of new stuff in here (some under the caveat new to me and also that this playlist was started last year)... Inoyamaland, Bartees Strange, Enny, Erika de Casier, Alewya, Fontaines, Tiana Major, Raheaven, Remi Wolf, A.Swayze & The Ghosts, Madlib, Gia Margaret, Nao, Squid, Cassandra Jenkins, Sleaford Mods, Angel Haze.

There is something by Sosena Gebre Eyesus (spelling is different on spotify but believe it's the same person) which sounds a bit like an Ethiopian version of Arthur Russell.

And also oldies from Aretha, Broadcast, Omega, J Cole, The Beatles, UB40, Augustus Pablo, Ry Cooder & VM Bhatt, Dylan, Prince, Joni, Nina Simone, PJ Harvey, Missy, Richie Havens, Young Marble Giants, Charles Mingus, Fairport, Brian Eno, Nas and Bowie. Actually loads of old stuff, this playlist is long!

Enjoy the Highland interlude.

Mix #26

In amongst knitting and telly (yes I watched all of Motherland S3 in one evening), I've recently read Detransition, Baby and would recommend. I've also made it to the 2/3 line of the Wolf Hall triology! Ventured out to Chelsea Physic Garden, my first visit. Watched Nomadland, didn't love it as much as I expected and preferred The Rider. Got some cinema bookings planned for the other Oscar films.

Mix #20

I made this playlist at the end of the year, but got a bit delayed.

Mix #20

Newish things - Just Mustard, Sauna Youth, Sinead O'Brien, Adwaith, India Jordan, The Guest (BCNR connect), Kali Uchis, Giant Swan, Shanti Celeste (this is probably the level that these playlists can max out, techno don't feel right in amongst other stuff), Shopping, Weeping Icon, Peter Ivers and Shygirl.

Old charms - Bjork, Funkadelic, Liquid Liquid, Iggy Pop, Mount Kimbie, Current 93, Shellac, Rupa (new to me though), Elvin Bishop, Stereolab and Brian Eno with David Byrne.

Boris Nikolaevich Ermolaev
New Years in Cornwall seems like a long time ago, but other things I've been up to are the Straw Bear Festival in Whittlesey, visiting Sofia for the first time (sadly no kukeris for us). I cried to Little Women, watched the mentile and not the classic I was excpecting El Topo, sang at The Karaoke Hole, went to NME Awards and headed to Glasgow to see wondrous Angel Olsen.

Mix #3

This is a selection of music I’ve been listening to over the last 6 months. Mostly new, but a few random old ones in there.

Listen and enjoy: Mix #3
